The bodmas of divine mercy. John 19:28-33 “after this,
“Jesus knew that everything had now been completed and so that the scripture should be completely fulfilled, he said”
“ I am thirsty” a jar full of vinegar stood there and so putting a sponge soaked on a hyssop stick, they held it up to his mouth.
After Jesus had taken the wine he said it is finished and bowing his head, he gave up his spirit.
When they came to Jesus, they saw he was already dead and instead of breaking his bones, and breaking his legs,
one of the shoulders pierced his side with a lance and immediately, there came out blood and water.
For a start, what is the greatest mistake the devil has ever made?
The greatest mistake the devil has ever made is allowing Jesus to die on the cross. the devil has no idea what it meant to be a Christian.
From the time when Jesus was been tortured, when he was been scorched, when he as carrying his cross, the devil was busy laughing thinking he was succeeding.
But at the time when Jesus indicated as we heard from St. John’s gospel.
“it is finished” that was when it dawned on the devil that he has lost it forever and victory was no longer his.
At that point in time, it became clear that you and I have been redeemed and have been saved by Jesus.
My dear friends, today, I want us to analyze this issue of Jesus dying on the cross and the Divine mercy.
As we read from John 19:33 that they pierced his side and blood and water flowed out, which is divine mercy?
The mercy of God, flowing out and gushing out among each and every one of us today
In our time of school, we were made to understand that there is an ultimate formula for mathematics called the Bodmas.
And the BODMAS simple put “Bracket of division, multiplication, and addition”
Talking about the Bodmas of divine mercy means that the bracket has to the open.
You cannot solve the mathematics if the bracket is not open.
Now Jesus Christ on the cross, when he opened his hand, the bracket of heaven were opened.
Also if you look at the image of divine mercy, you will find the left hand of Jesus on the heart.
What Christ is actually doing is that Christ is opening his heart, opening the bracket of his heart for the mercy of God to gush forth.
The D Which Stands For The Division.
Because the mercy of God is there for us. what it means is that we no longer belong to the devil.
You read Colossians 1:3, St Paul reviews that once we were in the kingdom of darkness but now we have carried into the kingdom his beloved son of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Meaning that light and darkness have no connection. From the point that Jesus Christ died, we belong entirely to God.
The next letter is the multiplication in the Bodmas. And what is it multiplying?
At the death of Christ, it is the multiplication of the divine mercy.
The mercy of God is been multiplied for each and every one of us. it means the secrete of our existence today.
The secrete of our progress in life, the secrete of who we are, and the secrete of going far in life is the divine mercy.
Meaning that we need to connect every day to the mercy of God for God to continue to help us.
THE BODMAS OF DIVINE MERCY
The A Of Bodmas Stands For Addition.
We have been added to the kingdom of his beloved son. We are now sons and daughters of God.
Now we are sons and daughters of God, meaning that we are partakers of the kingdom of God.
We have been added, no longer to be caught off from the kingdom of his beloved son.
Finally, The S Stands For Subtraction.
What are we to subtract? We are meant to subtract sin from our lives.Christ has opened the bracket for each and every one of us to enter.
We are now separated and divided from the devil and we are been added to the kingdom of God. Now we have to subtract sin from our lives.
In order to enjoy the fullness of the mercy of God. Let the mercy of God not be a waste in our lives. Today, take a decision.
Make the right choice to say no to sin. To cut sin off from your lives. To take a firm stands to stand with Jesus.
To pursue holiness, to pursue righteousness, to pursue purity, and to be an effective child of God.
